The ORIGINAL spey feather (other than the extinct Spey Cock). If you have tied with Heron substitutes like Rhea or Blue Eared Pheasant, you will quickly notice how much better the original is. Our natural Heron is the premium feathers that have been dyed over the natural chocolate colour. The dye jobs are strong, though they are covering a darker colour in most cases. This gives the feathers a natural looking transition where the bright dye colour is very evident at the base of the plume and the colour gets darker as you move up the feather. These are the plumes you are after if you are wrapping these as traditional spey plumes. The stems are very supple and the feather quality is fantastic! Please click on the small pictures to see the amazing beauty of the feathers....

Feather barbs still have the soft "fluff" which gives the feathers more body.
Dyed colours go from bright at the base to darker as you move up the feather fora a much more natural look
Available in regular Packs (5 feathers), at a discounted rate for Super Packs (20 feathers), or you can order a full assortment of all nine colours (5 of each) for the best savings.

On the left is the Natural Heron, to the right is our Bleached Heron. You quickly will notice that the barbs on the Naural heron have much more body to them....perfect for traditional Spey Patterns and ideal for wrapping.
For your best value, we also offer an assortment of nine colours (five feathers each) for a discounted price.

NEW! We are now offering packs of our premium heron feathers in a smaller size. These plumes come in packs of 12 and are perfect as spey plumes on size 2, 3, 4, and smaller hooks. They are fantastic for webby looking trout patterns too!
